For maximum enjoyment of these courses we recommend that you have some experience of walking in the British hills. As winter mountain walking can be a fairly strenuous activity, a reasonable level of fitness will help you get the most out of the days and help you absorb new skills more easily.

Winter Skills Training

Suitable for beginners keen to experience winter conditions for the first time or experienced walkers seeking to refresh their skills or acquire additional knowledge. Depending on the duration of course we will cover some or all of the following:

Learn and practice the essential skills for Scotland’s winter mountains with our experienced instructors. A short course in the Cairngorms, Ben Lawers or Fort William area is the easiest and quickest way to get you started.
